About TaTa:
TaTa Sherise is a dynamic comedian, actor, and creative force hailing from South Jersey. Known for her quick wit and magnetic energy, TaTa’s journey to the comedy stage is as compelling as the laughs she delivers. As a child, she lit up every room with her humor, earning accolades like “Class Clown” and “Best Personality” during her school years. By age 5, she was already captivating audiences through dance and acting, laying the foundation for her future in entertainment.
​A graduate of Rider University with a degree in Public Relations and Radio and TV Broadcasting, TaTa sharpened her storytelling skills early on. After college, she spent two years studying acting in Philadelphia. But it was n0t until life threw her some of its toughest challenges—the loss of her father, heartbreak, and her mother’s ongoing battle with addiction—that she found her true calling: stand-up comedy.
​In 2017, TaTa hit the Philly comedy scene, using laughter as therapy and turning personal struggles into relatable and hilarious stories. Eight years and hundreds of shows later, she has become a fixture in major cities across the U.S. sharing the stage with Michael Colyar, Jared Freid, Zainab Johnson, Jess Hilarious, Just Nesh, Connor King, Paris Sashay, Rich Vos, Maddie Wiener, Peter Kim & Eunji Kim, Drew Dunn, and many more. In the past few years she has become a regularly booked comedian at Helium Comedy Club Philadelphia, PA, Punch Line Philly, AC Jokes Atlantic City, NJ, and at The Stand Comedy Club NYC. TaTa’s raw, high-energy performances and signature blend of charm, humor, and physical comedy have made her a standout and audience favorite.
​Her star power has not gone unnoticed. TaTa was named “Creator to Watch” at the 2023 New York Comedy Festival and earned the festivals prestigious title of “Comic to Watch” the following year in 2024. She has appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and Facebook TV’s Mastery of Comedy, produced by Magic Lemonade Productions. In addition to her solo work, TaTa is the co-creator of Girls Got Giggles, a brand she launched with creative partner Andrea “Drizz” Lewis. Together, they produce a podcast, live shows, and short films that bring humor, heart, creativity, and unfiltered thoughts. In 2022, The Philadelphia Inquirer crowned TaTa “The Hottest Comedian to Come Out of Philly,” cementing her place as a rising star in the comedy world. In 2024, TaTa was the first Black woman to win the annual Philly’s Phunniest Competition produced by Helium Comedy Club.
